The concept of this class is to take a photograph of a landscape and transform it into a stylized landscape perfect for the art of rug hooking using the existing design elements from the photo. 

Participants will create an original pattern that captures the place, but transforms the scene into a “wonderlandscape,” for the application of colour, pattern and texture. You will bring several photographs of landscapes from your photo libraries that we have communicated about prior to class. 

By the end of the first day, you will have a pattern designed and ready to start the hooking process. During the workshop we will explore perspective in landscapes and how to apply the general rules of obtaining depth to our hooked pieces. We will apply colours, values, and patterns to create a ‘”wonderland”!
